The basic calculation
A wagering requirement is the total amount you must bet before bonus-related winnings become eligible for withdrawal. The most important question is whether the multiplier applies to the bonus only or to the deposit plus bonus.
Common promotions may use 1×, 5×, 10×, 15×, 20×, 30×, 40× or 45×. Never assume one casino—or even two coupons at the same casino—uses the same number.
Deposit $100 + receive a $100 bonus. Required wagering: $100 bonus × 45 = $4,500.
Deposit $100 + receive a $100 bonus. Combined balance: $200 × 45 = $9,000 in required wagering.
The second version requires twice as much play. Never assume which formula applies—find the exact wording in the promotion.
Game contribution changes the real number
Slots often contribute 100%, while blackjack, roulette, video poker and live-dealer games may contribute less or nothing. If a game contributes only 10%, every $10 wagered counts as just $1 toward the requirement.
A $4,500 requirement played entirely on a 10%-contribution game would require $45,000 in actual bets to complete.
Six terms to check together
| Term | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Wagering multiplier | Controls the headline amount of required play. |
| Calculation base | Bonus-only is usually lighter than deposit-plus-bonus. |
| Game contribution | Determines how much each wager actually counts. |
| Maximum bet | One oversized bet can violate the promotion. |
| Maximum cashout | Can cap what you may withdraw even after completing wagering. |
| Expiration | Sets the deadline for finishing all required play. |
A practical pre-claim checklist
- Confirm whether wagering applies to the bonus or deposit plus bonus.
- Calculate the actual dollar requirement.
- Check your intended game’s contribution percentage.
- Find the maximum allowed bet.
- Find the maximum permitted cashout.
- Check excluded games, countries and payment methods.
- Note the expiration date.
- If any term is unclear, do not activate the bonus until support answers in writing.
